1998 King Cake Review...

The McKenzie's King Cake

If you like your king cake with plenty of fillings, McKenzie's has some of the most generously filled cakes in town.

McKenzie's offers traditional, iced and filled king cakes. Fillings include apple, cherry and cream cheese.

McKenzie's king cakes rated very good on cake flavor. We rated them very good on moistness as well. The filled cakes tended to have a bit more moisture than we considered ideal because of the large quantity of filling.

The flavor of toppings were very good, as was appearance. As mentioned earlier, fillings were very generous and McKenzie's rates excellent in this category. Filling flavors we tested all rated very good.

McKenzie's offered very good prices. The filled cakes are an especially good value because of the quantity of fillings. Availability of different varieties was excellent at the store we visited, as was service from the staff in the store.

McKenzie's is an excellent choice if you like a king cake with lot's of fillings. Overall, we rate McKenzie's king cakes very good.
