creative Writing, is a poetry and story section for EastJefferson Parish's Web Site which is a wonderful way of connecting with others. This section is intended to provide East Jefferson Parish members the opportunity to reach, inspire, and comfort one another in the community through writing. By sharing their thoughts, emotions, and stories creatively.

The way television and movie industries present our culture has an effect on our own perceptions. The entertainment industry does not accurately portray who we really are. The ability to communicate and entertain without use of: violence, foul language, and other additives, is becoming a lost art. There is more love and respect for others in our community than is represented by the media. 

For this reason, East Jefferson Parish would like to invite community members to submit their poetry and creative stories to be shared with others.
